West 4 East 2
The West took a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals from Quinn Cloghessy (Hammond Noll) at the 20:35 mark and Andrew Mocherman (Tri-West) at the 16:49 mark, but the East pulled within 2-1 on a goal from Heritage Christian’s Nick Sato just 47 seconds before halftime.
No one scored in the second half until the East’s Matt Goldsberry (Heritage Christian) placed a ball into the net to tie the game 2-2 with 9:57 left to play. But Boone Grove’s Mitch Aguilera scored back-to-back goals at the 8:11 and 6:22 marks to give the West a 4-2 lead, which it would not relinquish.
“I kind of stepped it up at the end,” Aguilera said. “That first goal gave me an extra boost of confidence to go after the second one. I enjoyed playing here. Soccer is my only sport, and I hope to play it in college at either Adrian or Taylor.”
Chris Lorenz of Hammond Noll was named Most Valuable Player for the West, while Aguilera received the Mental Attitude award. For the East, Brandon Boyce of Indianapolis Ritter was Most Valuable Player and Sato got the Mental Attitude award.
“It took a while for me to get registered,” Boyce said, “but it was well worth it. I had a good time playing center back. This was a nice way for me to end my soccer career, as I plan to go to Purdue and study engineering, but don’t plan to play soccer there.”

I tried to take photos of as many people as possible but am sure there are some I missed. If I have no photos of a specific individual, it was not intentional and I apologize. Other photographic duties limited the time I had available for each game.
